Little Elephant, Inc.

Congratulation! Please give thanks to the Lord for the registration of Little Elephant, Inc! It was a dream of Lee Davis, founder of the Chang-Noi Ministry. While visiting with David Roland in Texas, Lee shared with him her vision for the ministry and her desire to form a non-profit corporation to continue Chang-Noi after she went to be with the Lord. The corporation was formed and the application for exemption from tax status was submitted to the U.S. Internal Revenue.

I would like to share the e-mail from David Roland.  It shows how God answered our prayers and encourages us to share more through this ministry. It is from someone who has a lovely heart for Thai people and encourages us to be apart of this wonderful ministry. Thank you David for what you and many people have done for Chang-Noi ministry.

Praise God!  Contributions and donations to Chang-Noi or Little Elephant, Inc. may now be considered as tax-deductible according to the rules and regulations regarding our submitted application to the IRS. 

While this status is temporary, we fully expect permanent status to be placed upon Little Elephant, Inc. within the next few months.

This was a dream of Lee Davis and it is indeed an honor to be able to make this announcement to her many friends and family and to those who have supported this ministry since its inception.  Please know that from this day forward your contributions may be designated as "tax-deductible" on your U.S. income tax filings.

Sharing Good news about Jesus by giving ICS’ shoeboxes

Thank God for almost a thousand shoeboxes from the ICS School! Over the past year Chang-Noi Ministry and its partners have given almost these thousand shoeboxes to kids in communities, churches, hospital, schools, remote areas, and especially in the flood areas (please see the December newsletter).  With almost a thousand shoeboxes this year, many kids will open their ears to hear the Good news of Jesus Christ and will open their hearts to know that Jesus loves them. Praise Him!

Thank you ICS School for the shoeboxes. Thank you for the many churches and Christian organizations which partnered with Chang-Noi Ministry this year to distribute and use these shoeboxes for the sole purpose of sharing Jesus Christ. I wish everyone could witness the joy of watching the face of a child or young person when he or she accepts Jesus as his or her personal Saviour in their life! Thank you, dear Abba God, for the prayers and financial support from our dear friends.

Teaching dish washing liquid

In the year of 2011, many parents of the children came to Abba house to learn how to make their own dish washing liquid. In Thailand it is legal to make your own dish washing liquid and sell it to friends and neighbors.  This is a great opportunity for the children’s parents to learn a useful skill which helps them earn a living.

Training of adults and kids to make the dish washing liquid was conducted over two evenings. Many of them who were unable to attend the previous session were so glad to have this opportunity to receive the training. They had a chance to practice making the liquid and to share the process used to make the product. Thank you to our volunteer, Mrs. Thida, from Promise Baptist Church, for training the parents and for sharing the love of Jesus with them. Because of this training, the relationship between kid parents and Chang-Noi Ministry staff has grown stronger and closer. This also helps many parents to know that we care about them and also opened a chance for us to share Jesus Christ with them.

Pre nursery program in 2012

This year there are seven kids who attend our pre-nursery program. Six boys and only one girl in our program! Praise the Lord for this wonderful program. Through the special program that we use for these kids, we are able to see the progress of their learning and their life improvement. Every child who attends the program receives hugs from each staff member.  This helps them to know that they are a special person in God’s eyes. They learn how to love and be loved. I always thank the Lord for wonderful the wonderful Christian staff, Rin, Rung, and Melissa, These dedicated ladies are conveying the love of God to these children through the lessons and actions they demonstrate daily. Because of the lessons learned through the program, most children are able to pray before their meals. They are able to sing some worship songs, but most of all, they know that they are special because God so loves them and died on the cross for them!

This summer will prove to be a special one for these children. In front of Abbat House will be a small pool for children to have fun and cool off at the same time! I praise the Lord that He guided me to find a small pool which cost only $13! Summer time in Thailand is hot, very hot!  The pool will allow the children to take a break from the intense heat by cooling off in the small court area at the entryway of Abba House.  It will be as great joy to see the children laugh while splashing one another, pouring water on one another’s heads and enjoying the blessing from the Lord. So I praise the Lord for His love and for giving us a great gift of a pool and to hear the laughter of joy.

  

Urgent prayer request

1. Please pray for a man who lives in Nardsoontorn slum area. He lives alone and his house is almost torn down!  Over one thousand dollars is needed to rebuild the man’s home.  Please join with me in prayer that God will speak to the hearts of people in Thailand and around the world to help provide for this man.
2. Please pray for a 10 year old girl, Fon. She accepted Jesus Christ and desires to follow Him in baptism this April.  However, when she told her counselor, Melissa, she has not returned to the ministry or been seen since.

 

Prayer requests

1. Continue to pray for people to hear about Chang-Noi Ministry and that their hearts will be touched and moved to give financially toward the work being done here in Thailand.  The basic monthly requirements are $1200 per month.  This pays for the three staff members (Rin, Rung, Melissa;  Num does not take a salary for administering the program), food to feed the children who attend the pre-nursery program, rent on Abba House, materials and supplies for the school program, Saturday School, and adult training sessions..
2. Pray for the Disciple Camp in this summer. Pray that we would exceed our goal of 8 children.
3. Pray for seven kids who attend the pre-nursery program. These seven kids will grow spiritually and physically
4. Pray for Thai New Year holiday in April 11-15. Many parents will go back home to their remote areas. Pray for their safe trips.
