Happy Birthday Y’all
The month of July is such a blessing month, because most Chang-noi’s staffs were born in this month! Every last Saturday of a month, we have a small birthday party for kid. So what happen in the month of July? Yes, we got a biggg party for kids and staffs.
It was fun to listen a birthday song, share blessing wish, and share food.” That day kids got noodle, snack, soft drink, and birthday cake. I was impressed that kids’ parent also joined us by giving some food and soft drink for this party. It showed that we also are God’s blessings for them, Praise Him.
Staff’s birthday on the month of July: Leurd 1st, Lee 6th, Num 25th, Rung 29th
Emma’s story
As most missionaries who have visited schools in Thailand, they know one popular Buddhism tradition in most schools that is morning Buddhism prayer. Students have to pray in Buddhism in the morning before going to their classroom. If you are Christian, it is a difficult situation for you because this makes you as a black sheep. I can say that this is a one of persecutions that Christian kids have to get in Thailand.
Emma is a classroom leader, so it is her job to lead a Buddhism prayer in the morning. But when she came to Abba House and accepted Jesus Christ, she knows that she is God’s daughter. She doesn’t want to lead a Buddhism prayer anymore! She asked her friend to a prayer leading for her, but her teacher found that. So her teacher asked her to choose between a classroom leader and Christian. She chose to be God’s daughter rather than a classroom leader, Hallelujah.
When her parent knew this situation, they don’t let her come to Abba house anymore. I am glad when Rung told me that even she doesn’t attend Abba house as she used to, but she still read her Bible and pray to the Highest God, who names Jesus.
Training kids and parents how to use medicine
In June 26th, Rin’s friend from Emmanuel Baptist Church came to Abba house for teaching how to use medicine. Her name is Pu. She used to be a nurse at a government hospital and now works for a drug company.
Our Abba’s kids and their parent were excited to realize that some basic drug that they can buy from a market can use for their health! They also learned how to ask to God for the healing. Yes, our Lord is wonderful God who is our healer(Exodus 15:26.) We are so blessed to have Pu with us that day. After we finished a teaching program, we also gave a medicine box for kids and parent to use at their home.
Music lession
Leard opens a music lesion for a youth group who wants to play guitar and keyboard. This program is on Tuesday evening. After teaching music, Leard will share his testimony and lead a Bible study with them. Right now he has about three teenagers who keep coming to learn music.
A good news is one of his students accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord! This young man names Lith. He had listened to Jesus story when he was young. In that time, he was a first group of kids who attend a program seven years ago when the Promise staff started a program for kids in this community: teaching on a road, help them to learn how to read an write, and sharing them Jesus. It such a great joy to know that God is continually working in this community and He still keeps calling these teenagers to be His sons and daughters.
Prayer request:
- for Lee’s Health, we continually pray for Lee’s health and a new environment, new neighbor, new friends etc. as she has move from SC to OK in the month of July.
- for kids and staffs health, right now it is raining season in Thailand. So it is easily for us to get a cold. Please pray for God’s protection and giving a good health for our kids and staffs.
- for kid's mother who attended a Mother day’s program, in the month of August. Please pray they could remember and know the Lord as their creator and savior.
- for October camp. we are praying for kids who will come to a camp and study Bible with Lerd, Rin and Rung.
- for Christmas shoeboxes in this December. we are looking for more Christmas shoeboxes as they will be enough for Abba kids, communites, and hospital.
