We are very near the end of the rainy season and yet we are having more rain now than at the beginning??????????

  

NURSERY SCHOOL

Abba House 1 has been very busy for the past few months. Hiring Khun Rung as the nursery school teacher has been a huge blessing. She has been teaching 7 children this past term, which ended on Oct 2, and it has been fun working with all of them. Anytime we get to tell the children about God and His amazing love for us then it has been a good day.

Khun Rin is still a full time student working on her degree and sharing with the nursery school many of the things she is learning in class. When not in school she writes lesson plans for the nursery school as well as being at Abba House once a week to encourage all of us.

Khun Leud, our seminary student, spent 2 weeks with us helping at the nursery school once his seminary had closed in September for the term. Up until this time Leud was only with us for the weekend programs.

 

God’s amazing love at work. We talk about it yet we sometimes forget or overlook the power of that love. For the past 3 months the nursery school has worked with a student by the name of Sawlea. Sawlea is 5 years old and very quiet. Regardless of how either Khun Rung or Khun Rin reached out to him, there was no response from this young man. He has just sat and looked or stood and looked. His basic skills were the lowest of all of the students. We later learned that he did not have a good relationship with his father, that the father would hit Sawlea because he would not talk.

 

Three weeks before the end of this term, Sawlea began coming to the Saturday program, still standing and looking, not participating. He began to connect with Khun Leud due to Leud’s guitar playing and his singing. When Leud began helping at the nursery school Sawlea was like a flower unfolding. He began to laugh and participate in the songs. Leud began working with him helping him with his Thai and English letters as well as his coloring. Sawlea began asking questions and even volunteered to recite the 10 commandments as well as sing songs alone. Leud also gave him a much needed haircut.

 

What an amazing transformation in this young man’s life. And we were able to see the results of Leud allowing God to love Sawlea through him.And being able to watch Sawlea response to this love.On the last day of nursery school Khun Leud built Noah’s ark. You can see Sawlea on Leud’s right wearing a yellow t-shirt.

 

It just doesn’t get any better than this. Thank you, our Abba for letting us witness your love.

On the last day of nursery school we had out end-of-term party. Here’s the whole gang. Notice where Sawlea is sitting. Khun Leud, Khun Rin, Pastor Num, Khun Rin and our 7 students. We are looking forward to starting the new term in November with the same children.

SATURDAY PROGRAM

The Saturday programs are going quite well. The first program is divided into 2 age groups with Khun Leud and Fah working with 7-8 year old children. Khun Rung works with the younger children at Abba House 2. These programs will often have as many as 16 children in them.

The Saturday afternoon program works with older children and Leud is able to do more with teaching the children how to live a Christian life. We have one student from this class who has already asked the BIG question. I am a Budhist, can I be a Christian? Pray for Leud as he leads these children to Jesus. It is quite a challenge.

ABBA HOUSE 1

Abba House 1 is closed during the month of October for much needed remodeling. Khun Rung has a tutoring program going on at AH 2 during this time for children who either do not attend school or are behind in their studies at Thai schools. Here is our staff with some of the children.
