NewslettersSwadee Kha April is summer time in This year, for the first time, Abba House was open during the month of April for VBS!!!!!!!!!!! the first ever for us. And what a huge success it was. We were open only in the mornings from 9 – 12 Khun Rin, the nursery school teacher, was in charge of the program and had help from various volunteers: Fah, Shawna, Beth, Dianna, Colene, Jo El and Brittany. What a huge blessings these girls were to the ministry. They played with the children, sang songs, shared in the games but, most of all, just loved the children. You’re never too young to sing
Nor too old to sing We had many different activities from the de-licing of girls’ hair to the making of homemade sandwiches. Khun Rin taught the older children how to make sandwiches in order for them to have a way of earning honest money.
Making sandwiches The children painted ceramic figurines, made picture frames out of colored popsicle sticks with the picture of Jesus and the children, had a picture coloring contest, received stickers for answering the Bible story questions correctly, made icing for icing muffins and watched DVDs. The most important thing that happened daily was the telling of the Bible story. Khun Rin planned the program so that the children heard a different story daily, all the way from Jesus’ birth to the cross to the resurrection. The last story was ……….Jesus loves the little children. What a testimony to these children, children who live in the slums of Nardsoontorn and know very little about love. Khun Rin’s husband, Khun Thanee, came one day to tell the story.
Khun Thanee and Zacchaeus During the last week of VBS Abba House had visitors from the International Community School (ICS), the international Christian school that so generously supplies us with Christmas Shoe Boxes. On 3 separate days we had fourth grade classes to tour the Nardsoontorn area as well as come into Abba House and be a part of the program. It was so touching to see the rich kids from this private school interact with the Abba House children and to hear Khun Rin pray for all of them, Jesus who loves all of the little children. The last day of the last week of a 4 week VBS, awards were given for the most stickers, Bible story quiz time, the coloring contest and other activities that Khun Rin creatively developed so that every child would get an award of some sort. Was VBS a success???? Definitely. Will we do it again????? Definitely!!!!!!!! Probably in October when the schools are closed again.
VBS awards Pastor Num with VBS staff Continue to pray for us and the work in the Nardsoontron area. Our Abba continues to bless us. Beginning this month Jumroon, the seminary intern who has served 2 weekend intern programs with Abba House, has returned to work with us full time. That means we will hopefully be able to develop programs during the week in order to help meets the needs of the community as well as share His love. Jumroon will be helping with the nursery school program, it will be opening May 19. Khun Rin is happy to have the extra help. The Saturday program will continue to minister to the children through songs, the teaching of English and Bible stories. Jumroon will be opening a Sunday program with the children, praying with them and teaching Sunday School. Pray for Jumroon as he is leading this work. Pray for all of us as we continue to share Jesus with these children. In our Abba’s arms, Lee
