Swadee Kha…….Happy New Year 2008

            Oh, December 2007 was a really busy but blessed month for Chang Noi Ministry. Our Abba blessed us in so many ways.

 

ABBA HOUSE CHRISTMAS

 

International Community School, a private Christian school, again helped in making sure children received Christmas Shoe Boxes. This past December there was donated over 600 packages as well as the remaining gifts/supplies from the project. Our thanks to ICS for the shoe boxes and to Mr Michael for helping with the transportation of the packages.

These gift boxes were used in several ministries connected with Chang Noi Ministry. They were shared with Promise Baptist Church, Pastor’s Num church; Som Rong church where Pastor Num helped with a Christmas program; and Samut Jedi, Promise’s daughter church across the river.

 

Christmas at Abba House was different this year as we want to teach the children to reach out to others. The Christmas program for the 3-4-5 year olds was held in Abba House with the telling of the birth of Jesus, songs, snacks and the opening of their gifts.

In the afternoon the older children went into the slums of Nardsoontorn, sang Christmas carols and gave boxes to the children who had not attended the 3-4-5 year old program.

After visiting Nardsoontorn the leaders with the kids went to another slum area where they sang Christmas carols and the birth of Jesus was shared with children and adults. The Christmas boxes and snacks were shared with another 30 children.

The final Christmas activity was held at Abba House where the children sang Christmas carols, played games and heard the Christmas story before opening their packages. The day was truly blessed by our Abba as we were able to share the true meaning of Christmas with so many children that day.

NURSERY SCHOOL

 

            The last Christmas party was at the nursery school with Khun Rin and her 5 students. Our Abba continues to bless us at the school as Khun Rin works with these children in learning Thai, English, math, everyday life skills and, most importantly, about Jesus Christ. They were so SURPRISED with their Christmas gifts.

In December we were also able to host for a few days a volunteer team from Sugar Hill, GA. This team was lead by Mark Maynard, missionary pastor and church planter from the FBC. The team of 13 members spent 2 days sharing Christ through Thai Christian translators in local Thai schools as well as helping in the Abba House nursery school. A third day was spent in prayer walking in specific areas. This effort was lead by Pastor Num. We appreciate so much their hearts for the lost people of Thailand and their willingness to come and share Jesus Christ.

 

Pastor Num and I continue to be in awe of the way our Abba provides for Chang Noi Ministry and the work here in Nardsoontorn with the children. Pray for us as we are praying about and moving in the direction of hiring a young Thai seminary graduate to aid in the work in this area.
