NewslettersSawadee Kha………..August 2007 Very wet greetings from a rainy Thailand. We are still ‘enjoying’ the rainy season with the biggest plus being that it cools the heat. We still have another 2 months or so before the dry season brings cooler weather.
Our Abba has been so loving and gracious to us in the past few months. Read on.
NURSERY SCHOOL
Thanks to the prayers and financial generosity of churches in Glenns Ferry, ID and the surrounding area, Missouri and Roswell, NM, Chang Noi Ministry was able to open a 3-4 year old nursery school for slum children only at Abba House. The grand opening was on Pastor Num’s thirty-first birthday!!!!!!! July 25th. What a great birthday present for a young man who has been praying for this event for a very long time. Chang Noi continues to pray for the financial funding of this project. If you are interested in helping us, please check our FINANCIAL HELP link for more information.
This school is the first Christian school of any sort in this area. We opened with 5 children, which is what we wanted. We want to start small and let our Abba grow the work. Khun Lin is our nursery staff, we are truly blessed in having her with us. She is a Godly woman who loves the Lord and these children.
SATURDAY PROGRAMS
The Saturday ministries continue to run smoothly, thanks to our local staff of Sea, Dta and Jumroon as well as to Sue Haney. Sue has been with Abba House the past 3 ½ years, together we have seen how our Abba has grown His work.
SUNDAYS
We now have Sunday School at Abba House, a 1 ½ hour program on Sunday mornings that works with 20-25 children ages 5 to 12 years. Jumroon and Dta are in charge of this program. Please pray for them as they work with these children.
REPAIR PROJECTS
Our oldest resident in the Nardsoontorn slum is a woman we call Khun Yai, grandmother. Khun Yai is somewhere between 90-100 years, is diabetic and lives alone in her ‘house’. Over the years we have tried to take care of some of her physical needs. During the month of July we were able to have the floor in her ‘bathroom’ repaired as it had holes in the squatty potty area. We also had a new porch built for her as the old one had holes also and was very dangerous. She is so proud of the work we have been able to do, And we are so grateful for the money many of you provided for this project. We can tell people that we love them but showing it has a much greater impact. Not only on the one person but on the neighbors as well.
Our Abba continues to work in Abba House and the various ministries. Please pray for Pastor Num and I as we seek to lead the ministry in ways that will glorify our Abba.
In our Abba’s arms,
Lee and Num ![]() |
